كشف الفنان المصري خالد النبوي، أن تجسيده لشخصية محمود عبدالظاهر في مسلسل «واحة الغروب» ترك أثرًا نفسيًا عميقًا داخله، إذ تلبسته الشخصية لفترة طويلة بعد انتهاء التصوير، لدرجة أصابته بالخوف من الاستمرار في التمثيل، ودفعته للتفكير جديًا في الاعتزال.
المماليك أنقذني
وقال خلال استضافته في برنامج «عندك وقت مع عبلة» مع الإعلامية عبلة سلامة: «بعد مسلسل واحة الغروب ووسط هذا الارتباك، جاء دور «السلطان الأشرف طومان باي»، في مسلسل «المماليك» ليعيد التوازن إلى رحلتي الفنية، فهذا الدور أنقذني على المستوى الإبداعي، ومنحني مسافة صحية بيني والشخصيات التي أتقمصها، بعد تجربة استنزاف نفسي قاسية في «واحة الغروب».
شغوف بالإخراج
ولم يُخفِ النبوي شغفه القديم بعالم الإخراج، مؤكدًا تفكيره أكثر من مرة في الانتقال خلف الكاميرا، وكتب بالفعل سيناريو أول أفلامه، لكنه لم يُنفذ حتى الآن.
وأوضح أن علاقته بالمخرج تقوم بالأساس على الثقة، مشيرًا إلى تفضيله العمل مع المخرج ذي الشخصية القوية، القادر على منح الممثل الطمأنينة، لأن غياب هذه الثقة ينعكس سلبًا على الأداء، مؤكدًا رفضه العمل مع أي مخرج يتعامل بادعاء أو يسيء للممثلين داخل البلاتوه.
المهاجر الأصعب
واعتبر النبوي أن دوره في فيلم «المهاجر» هو الأصعب والأكثر إرهاقًا في مسيرته، مشيرًا إلى حجم المجهود الذي بذله في هذا العمل بالتعاون مع المخرج العالمي الراحل يوسف شاهين، وأكد أنه بطبيعته يحب العمل الشاق، ولا يشعر بطعم الراحة أو حتى الطعام إلا بعد تعب حقيقي، لأن الاجتهاد في رأيه هو مفتاح التلذذ بالحياة.
The Egyptian artist Khaled Nabawy revealed that his portrayal of the character Mahmoud Abdel Zaher in the series “Wahat Al-Ghoroub” left a deep psychological impact on him, as he was possessed by the character for a long time after filming ended, to the extent that it caused him fear of continuing to act and made him seriously consider retirement.
The Mamluks Saved Me
He said during his appearance on the program “You Have Time with Abla” with the media personality Abla Salama: “After the series Wahat Al-Ghoroub and amidst this confusion, the role of ‘Sultan Al-Ashraf Tuman Bay’ in the series ‘The Mamluks’ came to restore balance to my artistic journey. This role saved me creatively and gave me a healthy distance between myself and the characters I embody, after a harsh draining experience in ‘Wahat Al-Ghoroub.’
Passionate About Directing
Nabawy did not hide his old passion for the world of directing, confirming that he has thought more than once about moving behind the camera. He has actually written the script for his first film, but it has not been executed yet.
He explained that his relationship with the director is fundamentally based on trust, pointing out his preference to work with a strong-willed director who can provide reassurance to the actor, as the absence of this trust negatively affects performance. He emphasized his refusal to work with any director who behaves pretentiously or mistreats actors on set.
The Hardest Immigrant
Nabawy considered his role in the film “The Immigrant” to be the hardest and most exhausting in his career, pointing to the amount of effort he exerted in this work in collaboration with the late international director Youssef Chahine. He confirmed that by nature, he loves hard work and does not feel the taste of comfort or even food until after real exhaustion, as diligence, in his opinion, is the key to enjoying life.
