أكد عضو مجلس القيادة الرئاسي اليمني أبو زرعة عبدالرحمن المحرمي، أن السعودية بقيادة خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، وولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان، تبذل جهوداً كبيرة لتهدئة الأوضاع في المحافظات الجنوبية باليمن.
وقال، في حديثه لـ«عكاظ»: «هي في نظرنا جهود محورية ومسؤولة تنطلق من حرص واضح وجلي على منع انزلاق الأوضاع إلى صراع داخلي جديد، وهي مهمة للحفاظ على ما تبقى من الاستقرار في بلد أنهكته الحرب»، مشيراً إلى حرص القيادة في السعودية منذ البداية على خفض التصعيد العسكري وتعاملها بحرص أخوي كبير، ودعوتها مختلف الأطراف إلى ضبط النفس وتغليب المصلحة العامة، ومرحبة بالحوار، ومؤكدة، أن معالجة القضايا الخلافية يجب أن تتم عبر المسار السياسي لا عبر فرض الأمر الواقع بالقوة، وهو منهج يحتاجه الجميع في مثل هذه الظروف بالذات وفي كل الأوقات.
التزام السعودية بدعم الشرعية
وقال: «هذه الجهود تؤكد التزام السعودية بدعم الشرعية اليمنية ووحدة الصف الوطني ورفضها لأي تحركات أحادية من شأنها تعقيد المشهد أو إضعاف مؤسسات الدولة بالتوازي مع سعيها لاستيعاب المطالب المحلية في محافظات الجنوب ضمن إطار وطني جامع، ويُحسب للرياض أنها تقوم بدور الوسيط المتوازن بين جميع القيادات والشخصيات السياسية، وتسعى إلى تقريب وجهات النظر وتهيئة الأرضية لحوار شامل يفضي إلى تسوية عادلة ومستدامة تلبي تطلعات الجميع»، مضيفاً: «أنه وعلى الرغم من التحديات القائمة وتعقيد المشهد الميداني وتعدد الأطراف وتباين أجنداتها، فإن الجهود السعودية تمثل عامل استقرار مهم وفرصة حقيقية لاحتواء التوتر ومنع اتساع رقعة الصراع، بما يخدم في النهاية مصلحة الشعب اليمني وأمن المنطقة ككل، ويعزز فرص الوصول إلى سلام دائم يقوم على الشراكة والتوافق والسلام».
مؤتمر الرياض وتوحيد الرؤى
وأكد أبو زرعة المحرمي، بأن مؤتمر القيادات والشخصيات الجنوبية يُشكّل محطة سياسية مهمة تهدف لإعادة الموقف الجنوبي ضمن إطار جامع ومسؤول، حيث لا تقتصر التوقعات عند هذا فحسب، بل تمتد لتشمل أهدافاً إستراتيجية أخرى، أبرزها توحيد الرؤى الجنوبية أو على الأقل تقليص فجوة الخلافات بين المكونات المختلفة بما يساعد على بلورة خطاب سياسي موحد يردم ويتجاوز التباينات ويؤسس لرؤية سياسية متجانسة وأكثر تماسكاً حول القضية الجنوبية، كما يمثل منهجاً ومساراً آمناً في مرحلة صعبة شهدتها البلاد وتفعيل المسار الدبلوماسي وإعادة طرح القضية الجنوبية كقضية عادلة في قوالب سياسية تفاوضية ضمن مسار سياسي شامل بعيداً عن التصعيد العسكري أو الخطوات الأحادية؛ وصياغة وثيقة مبادئ موحدة تحدد المطالب والأولويات الجنوبية وتضع خارطة طريق واضحة لآليات التعامل معها سياسياً، إضافة إلى توسيع قاعدة المشاركة من خلال حوار وطني شامل يتجاوز الأطر التقليدية ليستوعب كافة الأطياف الجنوبية، بما يضمن استيعاب جميع القيادات والشخصيات وتعزيز الثقة والمصداقية في شمولية الحراك السياسي المنبثق عن المؤتمر، وكذلك الإسهام في دعم الاستقرار في الجنوب وتهيئة الأرضية لمفاوضات أوسع على المستوى الوطني ككل. وقال إنه وبشكل عام يعوّل على المؤتمر في أن يكون فرصة لترتيب البيت الجنوبي سياسياً ودمج القضية الجنوبية في أي تسوية شاملة قادمة، مع بقاء نجاحه مرهوناً بمدى التزام الأطراف بنتائجه وترجمتها عملياً على أرض الواقع.
حرص السعودية على القضية الجنوبية
وعن حرص السعودية على القضية الجنوبية، قال أبو زرعة المحرمي: «إنه يمكن النظر إلى حرص السعودية على القضية الجنوبية العادلة في اليمن من خلال مقاربة سياسية إستراتيجية واعية تنطلق من إدراك عميق لتعقيدات المشهد اليمني وخصوصية الجنوب تاريخاً وهويةً وتطلعات، مشيراً إلى تأكيده بأن السعودية ستدعم مسارا سياسيا يضمن لأبناء الجنوب حقهم في التعبير عن إرادتهم السياسية بعيدًا عن الإقصاء أو التهميش وضمان مصير آمن يلبي كل التطلعات، وفي إطار يحفظ أمن المنطقة واستقرارها ويحول دون انزلاق اليمن نحو مزيد من التفكك والصراع». وأوضح، أن هذا الحرص يعكس قناعة «الأشقاء في السعودية بأن معالجة القضية الجنوبية يجب أن تتم عبر الحوار والمسار السياسي لا من خلال فرض الأمر الواقع بالقوة»، كما تظهر السعودية من خلال تبنيها لهذه المقاربة المتوازنة والمسؤولة حرصها على التعامل مع القضية الجنوبية وتطلعات شعب الجنوب بعقلانية وإنصاف، انطلاقًا من قراءة دقيقة للتحولات على الأرض وإدراك عميق لجذور القضية الجنوبية ومطالب شعبها المشروعة، ما يجعلها استحقاقًا وطنيًا مهمًا لا ملفًا هامشيًا، وفي الوقت نفسه، تتعامل السعودية مع المشهد اليمني برمته بعقلانية سياسية، ساعية لتحقيق أكبر قدر ممكن من الاستقرار والسلام بأقل كلفة إقليمية، وينبع هذا الحرص أيضًا من البعد الأمني والإقليمي وقيادة السعودية للمنطقة ودورها المحوري، إذ ترى السعودية أن استقرار جنوب اليمن يمثل عنصرًا أساسيًا في تعزيز أمنها القومي وحماية حدودها، وضمان أمن الممرات الملاحية الحيوية، ومنع تمدد الجماعات المسلحة أو النفوذ المعادي إلى المناطق الملاصقة لحدودها وهو عمل إستراتيجي يتوافق مع توجه الشعوب الحريصة على أمن واستقرار المنطقة وعدم السماح للأجندات البعيدة التي تهدف إلى زعزعة الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة والإقليم، كما يتجلى في سعيها للحفاظ على توازن يمني–يمني من خلال إدارة الخلافات بين الأطراف دون انحياز مطلق وربط أي حلول سياسية ضمن إطار وطني أوسع يحول دون تفكك الدولة ويضمن معالجة عادلة لمختلف القضايا الوطنية.
إدارة الملف بحكمة وتوازن
وقال، إن خلاصة القول هي: «إن حرص السعودية على القضية الجنوبية هو حرص مشروط بالاستقرار؛ فلا هو تبنٍّ مطلق لكل الأطروحات، ولا تجاهل لمطالب الجنوبيين، بل مسعى مسؤول لإدارة هذا الملف بحكمة وتوازن، بما يخدم أمن المنطقة، ويحفظ حقوق أبناء الجنوب، ويُبقي باب الحل السياسي الشامل والعادل مفتوحًا».
الحالة الأمنية في عدن مستقرة
وإجابة عن سؤال يتعلق بالأوضاع الأمنية في عدن، قال أبو زرعة المحرمي: «إن الحالة الأمنية في عدن مستقرة ومؤمّنة بالتنسيق مع التحالف لضمان حماية المؤسسات والمواطنين، وتهيئة بيئة ضامنة للاستقرار والتنمية المستدامة، فنحن ملتزمون بالعمل بكل طاقاتنا وإمكاناتنا بالتنسيق مع التحالف العربي بقيادة الأشقاء في السعودية لضمان استقرار العاصمة عدن وتطبيع الأوضاع بشكل شامل، فدعم الأشقاء والأصدقاء إلى جانب التعاون البنّاء بين السلطات المدنية والعسكرية والأمنية، والقطاع الخاص والمرجعيات الاجتماعية والمجتمع المدني، وكافة المواطنين، يشكل قاعدة صلبة لتحقيق الأمن والاستقرار. ونحن واثقون أنه من خلال هذا التكاتف الوطني، والحرص المشترك والوعي لدى المواطنين سنتمكن من صون المؤسسات العامة وحماية حياة المواطنين، وتوفير بيئة مستقرة تسمح للجنوب واليمن كافة بالازدهار، بما يتوافق مع تطلعات جميع المواطنين في مختلف المدن والمحافظات المحررة».
المستقبل برؤية وطنية واضحة
وفي سؤال عن نظرته للمستقبل، قال إنها بكثير من التفاؤل والأمل والثقة مستندين إلى رؤية وطنية واضحة، تجمع بين المعالجات الفورية للتحديات الراهنة ورؤى التنمية المستدامة على المدى الطويل، ونحن ملتزمون بصياغة مسارات واضحة لتعزيز استقرار الدولة وتقوية مؤسساتها، وصون مكتسباتها، وبناء قاعدة متينة للنمو الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، مع التركيز على تمكين المواطن وتحقيق فرص متكافئة للجميع، وشراكتنا الإستراتيجية مع السعودية والدعم الدولي والإقليمي إلى جانب تضافر جهود المؤسسات الوطنية والمجتمع المدني يوفر الأرضية الصلبة لتحقيق الأمن والاستقرار، وخلق بيئة حاضنة للسلام والتنمية.
المستقبل بالنسبة لنا هو مرحلة لبناء رؤية وطنية متكاملة للدولة، تقوم على أسس صلبة وسليمة، قادرة على مواجهة التحديات المعقدة، والانطلاق نحو ازدهار مستدام يعكس إرادة الشعب وإبداعهم في بناء وطنهم، ويضمن تحقيق الأمن، والتنمية، والكرامة لجميع مواطنيه، كما أننا نثق بأن قيادة المملكة العربية السعودية حريصة على تثبيت الأمن والاستقرار والتنمية وتخفيف المعاناة عن الناس، وسيكون لها الدور الأبرز في الوقوف معنا كما كانت سابقا، وبالمقابل نؤكد بأننا سنظل مع الأشقاء في السعودية وداعمين لرؤيتهم الشاملة وقيادتهم الحكيمة.
Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council member Abu Zar’a Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami confirmed that Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, is making significant efforts to calm the situation in the southern provinces of Yemen.
He stated in an interview with “Okaz”: “In our view, these are pivotal and responsible efforts that stem from a clear and evident desire to prevent the situation from slipping into a new internal conflict, which is essential for maintaining what remains of stability in a country exhausted by war.” He pointed out that the Saudi leadership has been keen from the beginning to reduce military escalation and has dealt with great brotherly care, calling on various parties to exercise restraint and prioritize the public interest, welcoming dialogue, and emphasizing that the resolution of contentious issues should occur through a political path rather than through imposing facts on the ground by force, a method that everyone needs in such circumstances and at all times.
Saudi Commitment to Supporting Legitimacy
He said: “These efforts affirm Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting the Yemeni legitimacy and national unity, and its rejection of any unilateral movements that could complicate the situation or weaken state institutions, while simultaneously seeking to accommodate local demands in the southern provinces within a comprehensive national framework. It is to Riyadh’s credit that it plays the role of a balanced mediator among all leaders and political figures, striving to bring perspectives closer and prepare the ground for an inclusive dialogue that leads to a fair and sustainable settlement that meets everyone’s aspirations.” He added: “Despite the existing challenges, the complexity of the field situation, the multiplicity of parties, and the divergence of their agendas, Saudi efforts represent an important stabilizing factor and a real opportunity to contain tensions and prevent the expansion of conflict, ultimately serving the interests of the Yemeni people and the security of the region as a whole, and enhancing the chances of achieving lasting peace based on partnership, consensus, and tranquility.”
Riyadh Conference and Unifying Visions
Abu Zar’a Al-Mahrami confirmed that the conference of southern leaders and figures represents an important political station aimed at reinstating the southern position within a comprehensive and responsible framework. The expectations do not stop there; they extend to include other strategic goals, the most prominent of which is unifying southern visions or at least narrowing the gap of disagreements among the different components, which helps in formulating a unified political discourse that bridges and transcends differences and establishes a coherent and more cohesive political vision regarding the southern issue. It also represents a method and a safe path in a difficult phase the country has witnessed, activating the diplomatic track and reintroducing the southern issue as a just cause in political negotiation frameworks within a comprehensive political path, away from military escalation or unilateral steps; and formulating a unified principles document that defines southern demands and priorities and lays out a clear roadmap for political handling of these issues, in addition to expanding the base of participation through a comprehensive national dialogue that transcends traditional frameworks to include all southern spectrums, ensuring the inclusion of all leaders and figures and enhancing trust and credibility in the comprehensiveness of the political movement emanating from the conference, as well as contributing to supporting stability in the south and preparing the ground for broader negotiations at the national level as a whole. He stated that, in general, there is hope that the conference will be an opportunity to arrange the southern house politically and integrate the southern issue into any upcoming comprehensive settlement, with its success remaining contingent on the extent to which the parties adhere to its results and translate them practically on the ground.
Saudi Arabia’s Commitment to the Southern Issue
Regarding Saudi Arabia’s commitment to the southern issue, Abu Zar’a Al-Mahrami said: “One can view Saudi Arabia’s commitment to the just southern cause in Yemen through a conscious strategic political approach that stems from a deep understanding of the complexities of the Yemeni scene and the uniqueness of the south in terms of history, identity, and aspirations.” He emphasized that Saudi Arabia will support a political path that guarantees the people of the south their right to express their political will away from exclusion or marginalization and ensures a secure future that meets all aspirations, within a framework that preserves the region’s security and stability and prevents Yemen from slipping into further fragmentation and conflict. He clarified that this commitment reflects the conviction of “our brothers in Saudi Arabia that addressing the southern issue must occur through dialogue and the political path, not through imposing facts by force.” Through adopting this balanced and responsible approach, Saudi Arabia demonstrates its commitment to dealing with the southern issue and the aspirations of the southern people with rationality and fairness, based on an accurate reading of the transformations on the ground and a deep understanding of the roots of the southern issue and the legitimate demands of its people, making it an important national entitlement rather than a marginal file. At the same time, Saudi Arabia deals with the entire Yemeni scene with political rationality, striving to achieve the greatest possible stability and peace at the lowest regional cost. This commitment also stems from the security and regional dimension and Saudi Arabia’s leadership in the region and its pivotal role, as it sees that the stability of southern Yemen is a fundamental element in enhancing its national security, protecting its borders, ensuring the security of vital maritime routes, and preventing the expansion of armed groups or hostile influence into areas adjacent to its borders, which is a strategic action that aligns with the aspirations of peoples keen on the security and stability of the region and not allowing distant agendas aimed at undermining security and stability in the area and the region. This is also evident in its efforts to maintain a Yemeni-Yemeni balance by managing disputes among the parties without absolute bias and linking any political solutions within a broader national framework that prevents the disintegration of the state and ensures a fair resolution of various national issues.
Managing the File Wisely and Balanced
He said, in conclusion: “Saudi Arabia’s commitment to the southern issue is conditional on stability; it is neither an absolute adoption of all proposals nor a disregard for the demands of the southerners, but rather a responsible endeavor to manage this file wisely and balanced, serving the security of the region, preserving the rights of the southern people, and keeping the door open for a comprehensive and just political solution.”

In response to a question regarding the security situation in Aden, Abu Zar’a Al-Mahrami stated: “The security situation in Aden is stable and secured in coordination with the coalition to ensure the protection of institutions and citizens, and to create an environment that guarantees stability and sustainable development. We are committed to working with all our energies and capabilities in coordination with the Arab coalition led by our brothers in Saudi Arabia to ensure the stability of the capital Aden and to normalize the situation comprehensively. The support of our brothers and friends, alongside constructive cooperation between civil, military, and security authorities, the private sector, social references, civil society, and all citizens, forms a solid foundation for achieving security and stability. We are confident that through this national solidarity, mutual concern, and awareness among citizens, we will be able to safeguard public institutions, protect the lives of citizens, and provide a stable environment that allows the south and all of Yemen to thrive, in line with the aspirations of all citizens in various liberated cities and provinces.
