من وقت لآخر، تتكرر حوادث مؤلمة وخطيرة، تهدد الأرواح والممتلكات وتتباين وتتنوع أسبابها بين الإهمال وسوء اختيار المنتجات الكهربائية، وقد كشفت تحقيقات عديدة، أن جزءاً كبيراً من حوادث حرائق المنازل والمنشآت يعود إلى استخدام أدوات كهربائية رديئة أو غير مطابقة للمواصفات، ويأتي اقتناؤها بسبب انجذاب البعض إلى الأسعار المنخفضة دون إدراك ووعي لحجم مخاطرها.
فالجهات الرقابية المختصة تؤكد دائماً على أهمية اقتناء الأجهزة وتحديداً التوصيلات
الكهربائية ذات الجودة والمستوفية لمعايير السلامة، وأن الأنواع الرديئة تعد سبباً مباشراً في وقوع حوادث خطيرة وجسيمة تلحق بالأفراد والممتلكات.
تأكد من العلامات قبل الشراء
قدّمت «الهيئة السعودية للمواصفات والمقاييس والجودة»، ست علامات تكشف التوصيلات الكهربائية الرديئة؛ وذلك تفادياً لوقوع كوارث الحريق والإصابات والفواجع، وتعد العلامات إعانة للمستهلك في معرفة التوصيلات المطابقة قبل الشراء، ومن أهمها: وجود غوالق لحماية الأطفال من الوصول إلى الأجزاء المكهربة، خط أرضي للحماية من الالتماس، ولا يقل مساحة مقطع السلك عن 1.5 مم2 إذا كان طوله خمسة أمتار وأقل، أما إذا كان أطول من ذلك فيجب ألا تقل مساحة مقطعه عن 2.5 مم2، ومن العلامات وجود قاطع للحماية في التوصيلات التي تحتوي على أربعة مخارج أو أكثر، إضافة إلى (الفيوز) الموجود في قابس التوصيلة لفصل الكهرباء عن التوصيلة في حالة التيار الزائد، ووجود مفاتيح مناسبة للتشغيل.
كيف تعرف فروقات «الشواحن»؟
تُعد شواحن الهواتف أبرز المنتجات الكهربائية المسببة للحرائق، وقد يؤثر اختيارها بشكل كبير على أداء الجهاز وسلامته، ومع انتشار الشواحن المقلّدة بات من الضروري معرفة الفرق بين الشاحن الأصلي والمقلّد لتجنب الأضرار المحتملة.
ويمكن تمييز الشواحن الأصلية من المقلّدة عبر عوامل عدة؛ أولها: يُلاحظ الاختلاف في جودة المواد والتصميم؛ إذ تُصنع الشواحن الأصلية بمواد ذات جودة عالية وتكون متينة مقارنة بالمقلّدة التي غالباً ما تظهر بها عيوب في الصنع. ويعد ارتفاع درجة حرارة الشاحن أحد أبرز الجوانب التي تكشف الشحن المقلد عن الأصلي، ويُوصى بفحص سرعة الشحن وأداء الجهاز عند استخدام الشاحن؛ إذ إن الشواحن المقلّدة قد تؤدي إلى ارتفاع حرارة الهاتف وبطء الشحن وينصح الخبراء بالشراء من المتاجر الموثوقة أو مباشرة من الشركة المصنعة لتجنب المخاطر، التي قد تشمل تلف البطارية أو نشوب حرائق.
توصيلات تحت المفارش!
الخبير الأمني اللواء متقاعد محمد الغامدي، كشف مشكلات شائعة، خصوصاً الأجهزة الكهربائية المقلدة ومنها الشواحن، التي عادة ما تظهر بها المقابس المزيفة، فتكون المسامير المعدنية مكشوفة، والعزل الأساسي ضعيف، كما أن المكونات الداخلية لا تتوافق مع لوحة المواصفات الخارجية للشاحن، وبالتالي تكون سبباً في حدوث تلف الجهاز ونشوب حريق.
وأضاف اللواء الغامدي: إن التوصيلات الكهربائية الرديئة خطر يهدد الأرواح، ووصف الشواحن والتوصيلات الكهربائية الرديئة بـ«الموت المحقق»، مؤكداً أنها أحد أبرز الحرائق في المنازل، وذلك بسبب تمديدها تحت المراتب والمفروشات وأسفل الستائر دون العناية بما قد تسببه درجات الحرارة في الأثاث، التي قد تصل إلى نشوب الحرائق. مشيراً إلى أن تلك التصرفات خطيرة، ولو عرف ما تشكله من خطر لما تم وضعها أسفل المفارش.
وشدد اللواء الغامدي، على أنّ مشكلة المنتجات الكهربائية قد تكمن في عدم الالتزام بالمواصفات والمقاييس المعتمدة، إذ إنها لا تتحمّل الحرارة أو الأحمال الكهربائية.
ورفض اللواء محمد الغامدي أن يكون السعر هو المقياس في شراء الأدوات الكهربائية، مشدداً على ضرورة النظر للجودة والمواصفات قبل شراء أي منتج متعلق بالكهرباء.
سلسلة رقابية متكاملة
أوضحت (هيئة المواصفات) أن التوصيلات الكهربائية المعتمدة والمطابقة للمواصفات القياسية، تتميز بأنها تحمي الأطفال من الوصول إلى الأجزاء المكهربة، والأجهزة من التلف لقيامها بفصل الكهرباء عن الجهاز في حال وجود تيار عالٍ، وبالتالي فهي وسيلة آمنة داخل البيوت إذا تم استخدامها بطريقة صحيحة. وفي المقابل، تمثّل التوصيلات الكهربائية الرديئة وغير المطابقة للمواصفات والمقاييس، تهديداً حقيقياً على سلامة المستهلك، وتتسبب في خسائر فادحة في الأرواح والممتلكات.
وتبذل الهيئة جهوداً متنوعة في مجال إصدار المواصفات القياسية السعودية، والمشاركة في تطبيقها ليحصل المستهلك على منتج مطابق للمواصفات القياسية، كما أنها شكلّت بالتعاون مع وزارة التجارة والاستثمار، ومصلحة الجمارك والجهات ذات العلاقة، سلسلة رقابية متكاملة للتأكد من تطبيق المواصفات القياسية السعودية، والأنظمة واللوائح التي تم اعتمادها، مثل نظام الاعتراف بشهادات المطابقة للإرساليات المستوردة.
تحذيرات الدفاع المدني
حذّر الدفاع المدني من استخدام توصيلات كهربائية رديئة حتى لا تؤدي إلى وقوع حرائق التماس الكهربائي. وأوضح أنه من أسباب حرائق التماس الكهربائي التوصيلات الرديئة وتحميلها أحمالاً زائدة وعدم تركيب قواطع أوتوماتيكية.
من جانبها، حذّرت الهيئة السعودية للمواصفات من استخدام التوصيلات غير المطابقة، التي تُصنّف من المنتجات عالية الخطورة؛ نظراً لما تسببه الحوادث الناجمة عنها من خسائر فادحة في الأرواح والممتلكات.
وبينت أنها شكلت مجموعة عمل ضمن الفريق الفني الخاص بالنظم والملحقات الكهربائية لتحديث اللائحة الفنية الخاصة بالتوصيلات الكهربائية لتفادى بعض المشكلات، التي يواجهها المصنّعون والمورّدون في تطبيقها مع ضمان توفر متطلبات السلامة للمستهلك، كما تمت إضافة التوصيلات الكهربائية ضمن المنتجات التي تراقبها الهيئة في الأسواق.
From time to time, painful and dangerous incidents occur, threatening lives and property, with various causes ranging from negligence to poor selection of electrical products. Numerous investigations have revealed that a significant portion of household and facility fire incidents is attributed to the use of substandard or non-compliant electrical tools, often acquired due to some people’s attraction to low prices without awareness of the risks involved.
The relevant regulatory authorities always emphasize the importance of acquiring devices, specifically electrical connections, that are of high quality and meet safety standards. Poor-quality types are a direct cause of serious and grave incidents affecting individuals and property.
Check the labels before purchasing
The “Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization” has provided six labels that reveal poor electrical connections to avoid fire disasters, injuries, and tragedies. These labels assist consumers in identifying compliant connections before purchase, with the most important being: the presence of child-proof covers to prevent access to live parts, a ground wire for protection against electric shock, and the wire cross-sectional area should not be less than 1.5 mm² if its length is five meters or less; if longer, it should not be less than 2.5 mm². Additionally, there should be a protective circuit breaker in connections with four or more outlets, along with a fuse in the plug to disconnect power in case of an overload, and appropriate switches for operation.
How to identify differences in chargers?
Phone chargers are among the most prominent electrical products that cause fires, and their selection can significantly impact the device’s performance and safety. With the proliferation of counterfeit chargers, it has become essential to know the difference between original and counterfeit chargers to avoid potential damage.
Original chargers can be distinguished from counterfeit ones through several factors; the first is the noticeable difference in material quality and design, as original chargers are made from high-quality materials and are durable compared to counterfeit ones, which often exhibit manufacturing defects. An increase in charger temperature is one of the most prominent aspects that reveal a counterfeit charger from an original one. It is recommended to check the charging speed and device performance when using the charger, as counterfeit chargers may lead to overheating of the phone and slow charging. Experts advise purchasing from trusted stores or directly from the manufacturer to avoid risks, which may include battery damage or fire outbreaks.
Connections under the mattresses!
Security expert, retired Major General Mohammed Al-Ghamdi, revealed common problems, especially with counterfeit electrical devices, including chargers, which often feature fake plugs, exposing the metal pins, with weak insulation. Furthermore, the internal components do not match the external specifications of the charger, thus causing device damage and fire outbreaks.
General Al-Ghamdi added that poor electrical connections pose a danger to lives, describing poor-quality chargers and electrical connections as “certain death,” affirming that they are among the leading causes of fires in homes, due to being extended under mattresses and furnishings and beneath curtains without regard for the heat they may generate in the furniture, which could lead to fires. He pointed out that such actions are dangerous, and if people understood the risks, they would not place them under the mattresses.
General Al-Ghamdi stressed that the problem with electrical products may lie in the failure to adhere to approved specifications and standards, as they cannot withstand heat or electrical loads.
He rejected the notion that price should be the measure for purchasing electrical tools, emphasizing the need to consider quality and specifications before buying any electrical product.
Integrated Regulatory Chain
The (Standards Organization) clarified that approved electrical connections that comply with standard specifications are characterized by protecting children from accessing live parts and preventing device damage by disconnecting power in case of high current, making them a safe option within homes if used correctly. In contrast, poor-quality electrical connections that do not comply with specifications and standards pose a real threat to consumer safety and cause significant losses in lives and property.
The organization is making various efforts in issuing Saudi standard specifications and participating in their implementation to ensure that consumers receive products that comply with standard specifications. It has also formed, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, the Customs Authority, and relevant entities, an integrated regulatory chain to ensure the application of Saudi standard specifications and the approved systems and regulations, such as the system for recognizing conformity certificates for imported shipments.
Civil Defense Warnings
The Civil Defense has warned against using poor-quality electrical connections to prevent electrical contact fires. It explained that poor connections and overloading them, as well as the lack of automatic circuit breakers, are among the causes of electrical contact fires.
For its part, the Saudi Standards Organization has warned against using non-compliant connections, which are classified as high-risk products due to the significant losses in lives and property caused by accidents resulting from them.
It indicated that it has formed a working group within the technical team for electrical systems and accessories to update the technical regulation for electrical connections to avoid some problems faced by manufacturers and suppliers in its application while ensuring the availability of safety requirements for consumers. Additionally, electrical connections have been added to the products monitored by the organization in the markets.
