أكد رئيس الجالية اليمنية بالمدينة المنورة ثابت محمد عسكر المفلحي، أن ما قدمته المملكة العربية السعودية لليمن، شكّل تحولاً مفصلياً في مسار الأزمة اليمنية سياسياً وإنسانياً واقتصادياً، وأسهم بشكل مباشر في حفظ كيان الدولة ومنعها من الانهيار الكامل.
وقال عضو الاتحاد العالمي للجاليات اليمنية في حوار لـ«عكاظ»: «إن العلاقة بين السعودية واليمن، أخوية وتاريخية واجتماعية متجذّرة، قائمة على مصالح إستراتيجية مشتركة، ومبنية على الأمن والأمان والاستقرار في البلدين والمنطقة».
دعم استثنائي متعدد المسارات
وأفاد المفلحي بأن الدعم السعودي شمل جميع المسارات دون استثناء؛ من السياسة إلى الاقتصاد إلى الإغاثة والتنمية، مؤكداً أن المملكة كانت حاضرة في أصعب مراحل الأزمة اليمنية، والدعم السعودي كان قوياً وسخياً في كل المجالات، العسكري والسياسي والإنساني والتنموي، وهذا شيء لا يمكن إنكاره.
جمع الأطراف على طاولة حوار
ولفت إلى أن المملكة دعمت الشرعية اليمنية سياسياً، وساهمت في جمع الأطراف المختلفة على طاولة الحوار، بما يحفظ وحدة اليمن ويمنع انزلاقه نحو التفكك.
وفي الجانب الإنساني، أكد أن مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة كان في مقدمة الجهات الداعمة لليمن في الغذاء والدواء والرعاية الطبية، إضافة إلى إيواء نحو مليون شخص، ودعم البنك المركزي اليمني.
انعكاس مباشر على المواطن
وعن أثر هذا الدعم على الداخل اليمني، وصف الأثر بأنه كان عظيماً جداً، مؤكداً أن الشعب اليمني يثمِّن هذا الدعم لما له من أثر مباشر على حياة المواطن وعلى الدولة اليمنية، إذ ساهم في حفظ كيان الدولة ومنعها من الانهيار الكامل، والتخفيف من الحالة الإنسانية، ولولا هذا الدعم لتفاقمت الأزمة الإنسانية بشكل أكبر.
وأضاف أن هذه الجهود انعكست على الواقع اليومي للمواطن، إذ بدأ الموظفون والعسكريون يستلمون رواتبهم، وتحسن مستوى الخدمات، حتى أصبحت الكهرباء تعمل بشكل لم يكن مألوفاً في بعض المناطق.
تحول حقيقي على الأرض
وتحدث عن برنامج إعمار اليمن، قائلاً: «إن المشاريع التي نفذتها المملكة شكّلت تحولاً حقيقياً على الأرض، واليوم الناس في عدن يعيشون فرحة حقيقية، بعد أن استلموا الرواتب نتيجة الدعم الذي قدمته السعودية».
وأكد أن مختلف فئات المجتمع اليمني من مثقفين وسلاطين وتجار ووجهاء ينظرون بتفاؤل كبير إلى المرحلة القادمة.
الجالية اليمنية في المملكة
وحول وضع اليمنيين المقيمين في السعودية، قال ثابت: إن الجالية اليمنية تعد أكبر الجاليات اليمنية في الخارج، ولا يمكن مقارنتها بأي جالية أخرى.
وأكد أن اليمنيين في المملكة يحظون بتقدير واحترام كبيرين، ويعاملون معاملة كريمة تعكس عمق العلاقة بين الشعبين، وقدمت المملكة تسهيلات متعددة خلال السنوات الماضية مراعاة للظروف التي تمر بها بلادهم.
ولفت إلى أن اليمنيين يعملون في مختلف القطاعات، ويسهمون بإيجابية في المجتمع السعودي، ويشعرون أنهم (جسد واحد) مع المجتمع. وتحدث عن تعديل الأوضاع منذ 2015، إذ أصبح عشرات الآلاف نظاميين، بل تحول كثير منهم إلى مستثمرين وتجار.
وأوضح المفلحي أن المكرمة الملكية في 2020 أسهمت في دخول اليمنيين بقوة في مجال الاستثمار، حتى أصبح اليمني مستثمراً وكأن البلد بلده، وأكد أن المواطن والمقيم والمستثمر أصبحوا في خندق واحد لبناء الوطن والمشاركة في تحقيق رؤية 2030.
المستقبل مرهون بقدرة اليمنيين
وعن نظرته لمستقبل اليمن، قال المفلحي: إن مستقبل اليمن مرهون بقدرة اليمنيين على توحيد صفوفهم واستثمار هذا الدعم الإقليمي والدولي في استعادة مؤسسات الدولة وتحقيق السلام.
وأضاف أن اليمن مزقته الخلافات، وآن الأوان لمشروع وطني جامع، واليمن يمتلك مقومات تؤهله للنهوض مجدداً بدعم أشقائه وأصدقائه، وفي مقدمتهم المملكة العربية السعودية.
وأضاف أنه رغم التشاؤم السابق بسبب أحداث عدن وحضرموت، إلا أن استلام المملكة للملف أعاد الأمل بالكامل، بعد أن كنا متشائمين جداً، لكن الآن نحن متفائلون بمستقبل باهر، وخصوصاً في المناطق الجنوبية، وهذا شعوري الحقيقي. وجدد رئيس الجالية اليمنية التأكيد على الدور القيادي للسعودية وقيادتها للمرحلة عسكرياً واقتصادياً ومالياً وإنسانياً.
The head of the Yemeni community in Medina, Thabit Muhammad Askar Al-Maflahi, confirmed that what the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided to Yemen has constituted a pivotal shift in the course of the Yemeni crisis politically, humanitarianly, and economically, and has directly contributed to preserving the state’s entity and preventing its complete collapse.
In an interview with “Okaz,” a member of the World Federation of Yemeni Communities stated: “The relationship between Saudi Arabia and Yemen is fraternal, historical, and socially rooted, based on shared strategic interests, and built on security, safety, and stability in both countries and the region.”
Exceptional multi-faceted support
Al-Maflahi indicated that Saudi support encompassed all avenues without exception; from politics to economics to relief and development, affirming that the Kingdom was present during the most difficult stages of the Yemeni crisis, and the Saudi support was strong and generous in all fields—military, political, humanitarian, and developmental—and this is something that cannot be denied.
Bringing parties to the dialogue table
He pointed out that the Kingdom supported the Yemeni legitimacy politically and contributed to bringing the various parties to the dialogue table, preserving Yemen’s unity and preventing its slide towards disintegration.
On the humanitarian side, he confirmed that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center was at the forefront of the supporting entities for Yemen in terms of food, medicine, and medical care, in addition to sheltering nearly a million people and supporting the Central Bank of Yemen.
Direct impact on citizens
Regarding the impact of this support on the internal situation in Yemen, he described the effect as very significant, affirming that the Yemeni people value this support for its direct impact on citizens’ lives and on the Yemeni state, as it contributed to preserving the state’s entity and preventing its complete collapse, and alleviating the humanitarian situation; without this support, the humanitarian crisis would have worsened significantly.
He added that these efforts have reflected on the daily reality of citizens, as employees and military personnel began to receive their salaries, and the level of services improved, to the point where electricity began to function in ways that were not common in some areas.
A real transformation on the ground
He spoke about the Yemen Reconstruction Program, saying: “The projects implemented by the Kingdom have constituted a real transformation on the ground, and today people in Aden are experiencing genuine joy after receiving their salaries as a result of the support provided by Saudi Arabia.”
He affirmed that various segments of Yemeni society, including intellectuals, sultans, merchants, and dignitaries, look forward with great optimism to the coming phase.
The Yemeni community in the Kingdom
Regarding the situation of Yemenis residing in Saudi Arabia, Thabit said: The Yemeni community is the largest Yemeni community abroad, and it cannot be compared to any other community.
He confirmed that Yemenis in the Kingdom enjoy great appreciation and respect, and they are treated with dignity that reflects the depth of the relationship between the two peoples, with the Kingdom providing various facilities over the past years in consideration of the circumstances their country is going through.
He pointed out that Yemenis work in various sectors and contribute positively to Saudi society, feeling that they are (one body) with the community. He spoke about the adjustment of situations since 2015, as tens of thousands became regularized, and many of them turned into investors and traders.
Al-Maflahi explained that the royal grant in 2020 contributed to Yemenis entering the investment field strongly, to the extent that a Yemeni became an investor as if the country were his own, and he affirmed that citizens, residents, and investors are now in the same trench to build the homeland and participate in achieving Vision 2030.
The future depends on the capabilities of Yemenis
Regarding his vision for the future of Yemen, Al-Maflahi said: The future of Yemen depends on the Yemenis’ ability to unify their ranks and invest this regional and international support in restoring state institutions and achieving peace.
He added that Yemen has been torn apart by disputes, and it is time for a comprehensive national project, as Yemen possesses the components that qualify it to rise again with the support of its brothers and friends, foremost among them the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He added that despite previous pessimism due to the events in Aden and Hadramout, the Kingdom’s taking over the file has completely restored hope, after we were very pessimistic, but now we are optimistic about a bright future, especially in the southern regions, and this is my true feeling. The head of the Yemeni community reiterated the leadership role of Saudi Arabia and its leadership in the phase militarily, economically, financially, and humanitarianly.
