أعلنت شرطة لوس أنجلوس إلقاء القبض على المغني الأمريكي فور في دي، للاشتباه في تورطه بقتل فتاة مراهقة كانت قد اختفت العام الماضي.
ويُعرف الفنان، واسمه الحقيقي ديفيد أنتوني بيرك، بأنه أحد نجوم منصة TikTok، وقد أصبح هدفًا لتحقيقات هيئة محلفين كبرى بشأن مقتل المراهقة سيليست ريفاس هيرنانديز، التي عُثر على رفاتها داخل سيارة تسلا مرتبطة به في سبتمبر الماضي.
وأوضحت الشرطة، في بيان مساء (الخميس)، أن بيرك (21 عامًا) محتجز دون كفالة، ومن المقرر عرض القضية على مكتب الادعاء العام يوم الإثنين.
في المقابل، نفى محامو المغني الاتهامات بشكل قاطع، مؤكدين في بيان لوسائل إعلام أمريكية أن الأدلة الفعلية ستُظهر أن ديفيد بيرك لم يقتل سيليست ريفاس هيرنانديز ولم يكن سبب وفاتها، مشيرين إلى أنه لم تصدر لائحة اتهام رسمية حتى الآن، وأن موكلهم محتجز فقط على ذمة الاشتباه.
وكانت الشرطة قد أعلنت سابقًا اعتقال بيرك بشبهة قتل سيليست ريفاس، في قضية أثارت جدلًا واسعًا منذ اكتشاف رفات الفتاة البالغة من العمر 14 عامًا في 8 سبتمبر داخل ساحة سحب سيارات في هوليوود، بعد بلاغات عن انبعاث رائحة كريهة من مركبة.
ووفق وثائق قضائية، عثر المحققون على رأس وجذع الفتاة في حالة تحلل داخل كيس مخصص للجثث، في الصندوق الأمامي لسيارة تسلا مسجلة بعنوان مرتبط بالمغني في ولاية تكساس.
وأشار تقرير الطبيب الشرعي إلى أن الجثة كانت في حالة تحلل شديد، ما حال دون تحديد سبب الوفاة حتى الآن، مع ترجيحات بأنها ظلت لأسابيع قبل العثور عليها. ولا تزال السلطات تتعامل مع القضية باعتبارها تحقيقًا في وفاة دون إعلان رسمي لسبب الموت.
وكانت الفتاة قد أُبلغ عن اختفائها في أبريل 2024 من منزل عائلتها في منطقة ليك إلسينور، على بعد نحو 120 كيلومترًا من موقع العثور على جثمانها، وذكرت تقارير إعلامية أنها كانت معروفة لدى الجيران، حيث اعتادت زيارة متجر قريب يوميًا.
وأدى الغموض الذي يكتنف القضية إلى انتشار تكهنات واسعة عبر الإنترنت حول طبيعة العلاقة بين الضحية والمغني، خصوصا مع وجود وشم على إصبع الفتاة يحمل عبارة «Shhh…»، وهو مطابق تقريبًا لوشم لدى بيرك.
وبدأت هيئة محلفين كبرى الاستماع للأدلة في ديسمبر الماضي، إلا أن اعتقال بيرك يُعد أول تطور بارز في القضية منذ أشهر.
وكشفت وثائق قضائية لاحقة، ظهرت بعد استدعاء عائلة المغني من تكساس للإدلاء بشهادتها، أن بيرك كان مُحددًا رسميًا كهدف للتحقيق، وقد يواجه تهمة قتل واحدة.
ورغم التزامه الصمت إلى حد كبير، أكد ممثلو المغني في وقت سابق تعاونه مع السلطات. ولم يصدر تعليق جديد منه عقب اعتقاله.
وعقب العثور على الجثة، ألغى المغني جولته العالمية، في خطوة اعتُبرت بداية تراجع مسيرته الفنية وابتعاده عن الأضواء، كما داهمت الشرطة منزله في هوليوود هيلز، قبل أن يتم استبعاده من حملات تسويقية مع شركة التجزئة الأمريكية هوليستر وشركة الأحذية العملاقة كروكس.
The Los Angeles Police Department announced the arrest of American singer For V D, on suspicion of being involved in the murder of a teenage girl who went missing last year.
The artist, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is known as one of the stars of the TikTok platform and has become a target of a grand jury investigation regarding the murder of the teenager Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were found inside a Tesla linked to him last September.
The police clarified, in a statement on Thursday evening, that Burke (21 years old) is being held without bail, and the case is set to be presented to the district attorney’s office on Monday.
In contrast, the singer’s lawyers categorically denied the charges, asserting in a statement to American media that the actual evidence will show that David Burke did not kill Celeste Rivas Hernandez and was not the cause of her death, noting that no formal charges have been filed yet and that their client is only being held on suspicion.
The police had previously announced Burke’s arrest on suspicion of killing Celeste Rivas, in a case that has sparked widespread controversy since the discovery of the remains of the 14-year-old girl on September 8 inside a car impound lot in Hollywood, following reports of a foul odor emanating from the vehicle.
According to court documents, investigators found the girl’s head and torso in a state of decomposition inside a body bag in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to the singer in Texas.
The coroner’s report indicated that the body was in a state of severe decomposition, which has prevented the determination of the cause of death so far, with indications that it had been there for weeks before being found. Authorities are still treating the case as a death investigation without an official announcement of the cause of death.
The girl was reported missing in April 2024 from her family’s home in the Lake Elsinore area, about 120 kilometers from the location where her body was found, and media reports indicated that she was known to neighbors, as she used to visit a nearby store daily.
The ambiguity surrounding the case has led to widespread speculation online about the nature of the relationship between the victim and the singer, especially with a tattoo on the girl’s finger bearing the phrase “Shhh…”, which is almost identical to a tattoo on Burke.
A grand jury began hearing evidence last December, but Burke’s arrest is considered the first significant development in the case in months.
Subsequent court documents, which emerged after the singer’s family from Texas was summoned to testify, revealed that Burke was officially identified as a target of the investigation and may face one count of murder.
Despite largely remaining silent, the singer’s representatives previously confirmed his cooperation with the authorities. No new comment has been made by him following his arrest.
After the body was found, the singer canceled his world tour, a move seen as the beginning of a decline in his artistic career and his withdrawal from the spotlight, and the police raided his home in Hollywood Hills before he was dropped from marketing campaigns with the American retail company Hollister and the giant shoe company Crocs.
