ودّعت الأوساط الرياضية في حائل والمملكة، فرج سليمان الطلال، أحد أبرز الرموز الرياضية والمدربين الوطنيين، بعد مسيرة حافلة بالعطاء امتدت لعقود، ارتبط خلالها اسمه بتاريخ نادي الطائي وبدايات عدد من نجوم الرياضة السعودية.
ويُعد الراحل من الشخصيات التي صنعت حضورها في الميدان لاعباً ومدرباً ومكتشفاً للمواهب، حتى أصبح اسماً راسخاً في ذاكرة الرياضيين، بوصفه أحد أبرز الأسماء التي خدمت الرياضة في حائل، وواحداً من أهم الوجوه التي ارتبطت بتاريخ نادي الطائي صعوداً وتأثيراً وإنجازاً.
وُلد فرج الطلال في حي الشعيب، وبدأ رحلته الرياضية مبكراً عبر الفئات السنية في الهلال بالرياض، قبل أن ينتقل إلى الشباب، ثم يستقر في نادي الطائي، حيث كتب الفصل الأهم في مسيرته الرياضية، لاعباً شاملاً مارس أكثر من لعبة، من كرة القدم إلى الطائرة واليد والسلة وألعاب القوى، وحقق في تلك المرحلة لقب بطل المملكة في الوثب الطويل والوثب الثلاثي، في دلالة مبكرة على موهبته الاستثنائية وتعدده الرياضي النادر.
وفي المجال التدريبي، سجّل الراحل اسمه كأحد الرواد، بعدما أصبح أول مدرب وطني يقود شباب الطائي إلى الدوري الممتاز، ثم واصل حضوره الفني مع الفريق الأول، وأسهم في قيادته من الدرجة الثانية إلى الأولى، قبل أن يشارك في رحلة الصعود إلى الممتاز، في محطة بقيت واحدة من أبرز التحولات التاريخية في مسيرة النادي.
ولم يتوقف أثر فرج الطلال عند حدود اللعب والتدريب، إذ ارتبط اسمه أيضاً باكتشاف المواهب وصناعة النجوم، واشتهر بنظرته الفنية الثاقبة، وكان من أبرز من اكتشفوا ودربوا أسماء لامعة في الكرة السعودية، وفي مقدمتهم الحارس الدولي محمد الدعيع وشقيقه عبدالله الدعيع، في واحدة من القصص التي بقيت شاهدة على قدرته الفريدة في قراءة الموهبة وتوجيهها، حين أسهم في تحويل محمد الدعيع من كرة اليد إلى حراسة مرمى كرة القدم.
وحظيت مسيرته بتقدير واسع، بعدما جرى توثيق رحلته الرياضية في برنامج «سيرة» على القناة الرياضية، كما حظي بتكريم معنوي لافت من خلال زيارة نائب أمير منطقة حائل إلى منزله، تقديراً لتاريخه الطويل وإسهاماته التي تجاوزت حدود النادي إلى المشهد الرياضي الوطني.
برحيل فرج الطلال، تخسر حائل أحد رجالاتها الذين تركوا أثراً عميقاً في الرياضة والمجتمع، ويخسر نادي الطائي أحد أسمائه التاريخية التي ارتبطت بالبدايات الكبرى وبناء الأجيال وصناعة الهوية الرياضية. وسيبقى حضوره راسخاً في ذاكرة الرياضيين، بما قدمه من عمل وإخلاص ومسيرة صنعت الفارق، وخلّدت اسمه في سجل الوفاء والإنجاز.

The sports community in Hail and the Kingdom bid farewell to Faraj Suleiman Al-Talal, one of the most prominent sports figures and national coaches, after a long career filled with contributions that spanned decades, during which his name became associated with the history of Al-Tai Club and the beginnings of several Saudi sports stars.
The late Al-Talal is considered one of the personalities who made a significant presence in the field as a player, coach, and talent scout, becoming a well-established name in the memory of athletes, as he is one of the most prominent figures who served sports in Hail and one of the most important faces linked to the history of Al-Tai Club in terms of rise, influence, and achievement.
Faraj Al-Talal was born in the Al-Shaib neighborhood and began his sports journey early through the youth categories at Al-Hilal in Riyadh, before moving to Al-Shabab, and then settling at Al-Tai Club, where he wrote the most important chapter in his sports career as a versatile player who practiced more than one sport, from football to volleyball, handball, basketball, and athletics. During that period, he achieved the title of Kingdom Champion in long jump and triple jump, indicating his exceptional talent and rare athletic versatility.
In the coaching field, the late Al-Talal recorded his name as one of the pioneers, becoming the first national coach to lead the youth of Al-Tai to the Premier League. He then continued his technical presence with the first team and contributed to leading it from the second division to the first, before participating in the journey to the Premier League, a phase that remains one of the most significant historical transformations in the club’s journey.
Faraj Al-Talal’s impact did not stop at the boundaries of playing and coaching; his name was also associated with discovering talents and creating stars. He was known for his keen artistic vision and was among the most notable figures who discovered and trained prominent names in Saudi football, including international goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Deayea and his brother Abdullah Al-Deayea, in one of the stories that remains a testament to his unique ability to recognize and guide talent when he helped transition Mohammed Al-Deayea from handball to football goalkeeping.
His career received wide recognition after his sports journey was documented in the program “Sira” on the sports channel, and he was honored with a notable moral recognition through a visit from the Deputy Emir of Hail to his home, in appreciation of his long history and contributions that extended beyond the club to the national sports scene.
With the passing of Faraj Al-Talal, Hail loses one of its men who left a deep impact on sports and society, and Al-Tai Club loses one of its historical names that were linked to great beginnings, building generations, and creating a sports identity. His presence will remain firmly etched in the memory of athletes for his work, dedication, and a journey that made a difference, immortalizing his name in the record of loyalty and achievement.
