أكدت الفنانة عائشة كاي رفضها أدواراً لا تعكس الصورة الحقيقية للمرأة، وقالت في تصريحات إعلامية إثر تكريمها في حفل Women in Cinema الذي أقيم في مهرجان كان السينمائي: «رفضت أدواراً تقلل من قيمة المرأة، وليس فقط على المستوى السعودي، فكلنا نعرف أن أدوار المرأة تتعدى دورها داخل البيت فقط».
تحديات عدة
كما تطرقت كاي إلى واقع الأدوار النسائية في الدراما والسينما، مشيدة بوجود منتجين يدعمون حضور المرأة، لكنها أشارت إلى وجود تحديات مرتبطة بالنصوص والأدوار المتاحة.
وقالت: «لدينا منتجين بمستوى عالٍ فيما يتعلق بالمرأة، ولكن لدينا إشكالية في النص والأدوار التي تخدم المرأة، فأتمنى أن نحصل عليها».
نقطة تحول
وأشارت عائشة كاي إلى أن انتقالها إلى السعودية قبل عامين كان نقطة تحول مهمة في مسيرتها، لافتة إلى أن مهرجان البحر الأحمر يحمل مكانة خاصة لديها، كونه المهرجان الذي شهد عرض أحد أعمالها السينمائية.
وتحدثت عن حجم النجاحات التي حققتها خلال الفترة الماضية، مؤكدة أنها لم تتخيل الوصول إلى هذا المستوى من الأعمال والمهرجانات العالمية.
وقالت: «لم أكن أحلم في السابق بما أنا عليه اليوم، فأنا أفكر بما سأفعله اليوم أو خلال الأشهر القادمة فقط، ولكن هذا المستوى من الأعمال والمهرجانات ما حلمت فيه ولكن حققته». وأضافت: «الأحلام ممكن لسه تفاجئنا، وأن تكون أكبر من توقعاتنا».
طموحات قادمة
وعن طموحاتها القادمة، كشفت عائشة كاي أنها كانت تتمنى أن يكون العام الحالي حافلاً بالمشاريع السينمائية، إلا أن معظم الأعمال التي قدمتها جاءت في إطار المسلسلات.
وقالت: «فكرت أن تكون كل السنة أفلام، طلعت كلها مسلسلات، فأتمنى السنة الجاية تكون أفلام».

In media statements following her honoring at the Women in Cinema event held at the Cannes Film Festival, she said: “I have rejected roles that diminish the value of women, and not just at the Saudi level; we all know that women’s roles go beyond their role inside the home.”
Several Challenges
Kai also addressed the reality of female roles in drama and cinema, praising the presence of producers who support women’s representation. However, she pointed out that there are challenges related to the scripts and available roles.
She said: “We have high-level producers regarding women, but we have issues with the scripts and roles that serve women, so I hope we can obtain them.”
A Turning Point
Aisha Kai noted that her move to Saudi Arabia two years ago was an important turning point in her career, emphasizing that the Red Sea Festival holds a special place for her, as it is the festival where one of her cinematic works was showcased.
She spoke about the extent of the successes she has achieved in the past period, confirming that she never imagined reaching this level of work and international festivals.
She said: “I never dreamed of being where I am today; I only think about what I will do today or in the coming months. But this level of work and festivals is something I never dreamed of but have achieved.” She added: “Dreams can still surprise us and be bigger than our expectations.”
Future Aspirations
Regarding her future aspirations, Aisha Kai revealed that she had hoped this year would be filled with cinematic projects, but most of the works she presented came in the form of series.
She said: “I thought the whole year would be films, but it turned out to be all series, so I hope next year will be films.”
