تحول طريق العودة إلى أرض الوطن إلى مأساة حقيقية، بعد أن تسببت حادثة مرورية مروّعة في خطف أرواح 7 مسافرين يمنيين وإصابة العشرات على الطريق الدولي الذي يربط بين اليمن والسعودية.
الفاجعة بدأت مساء الجمعة في منطقة «العبر» شمالي محافظة حضرموت، حينما اصطدمت حافلة نقل جماعي —كانت تقل على متنها نحو 40 مسافراً قادمين من السعودية—بمقطورة نقل كبيرة. وبسبب السرعة الزائدة وعدم القدرة على تفادي الموقف، تداخلت في الحادثة مقطورة أخرى وسيارة صغيرة (تاكسي)، لينتهي المشهد بكارثة مرورية معقدة.

الحادثة أسفرت عن تحطم الآليات، ووفاة 7 أشخاص، وإصابة العشرات بجروح متفاوتة الخطورة، كانت النسبة الأكبر منهم من ركاب الحافلة السياحية الذين كانوا يمنون النفس بلقاء أهاليهم.

وعلى خلفية هذه الفاجعة التي هزت الشارع اليمني، وجه وزير النقل محسن العمري بتشكيل لجنة فنية متخصصة بشكل فوري، لمتابعة ملابسات الحادثة، والتحقيق في تفاصيلها للوقوف على الأسباب الدقيقة وراء هذه الخسارة المؤلمة في الأرواح.
The return journey to the homeland turned into a real tragedy after a horrific traffic accident claimed the lives of 7 Yemeni travelers and injured dozens on the international road connecting Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
The tragedy began on Friday evening in the “Al-Abr” area, north of Hadhramaut Governorate, when a public transport bus — carrying about 40 travelers coming from Saudi Arabia — collided with a large transport trailer. Due to excessive speed and the inability to avoid the situation, another trailer and a small car (taxi) were involved in the incident, culminating in a complex traffic disaster.

The incident resulted in the destruction of vehicles, the death of 7 people, and injuries to dozens with varying degrees of severity, the majority of whom were passengers on the tourist bus who were hoping to reunite with their families.
Official response
In light of this tragedy that shook the Yemeni street, Minister of Transport Mohsen Al-Amri directed the immediate formation of a specialized technical committee to follow up on the circumstances of the incident and investigate its details to determine the exact causes behind this painful loss of life.
